VINTAGE
The 2021 vintage will be remembered for low yields with intensely-flavored, small-sized berries and a smooth and uneventful harvest season. The season started off with very little rain, leading to the 2nd year of drought conditions.  While concerning in the long term, the drought of 2021 resulted in a more natural load on the vines, requiring less pruning and dropping of fruit. The resulting grapes are packed full of flavor.  Truly, one of the great vintages.

WINEMAKING
Aglianico, a dark-skinned Italian varietal native to the Campania region near Naples, is renowned for producing a deep ruby wine characterized by robust aromas and flavors, complemented by substantial tannins. Our estate, nestled in this picturesque locale, proudly presents the inaugural vintage of estate Aglianico in 2021.  Throughout the fermentation process, we treat the grapes with utmost care, employing a gentle daily punchdown to keep the cap moist. The resulting wine undergoes maturation predominantly in neutral French oak, a meticulous process that allows the unique qualities of the varietal and the terroir to shine through. This inaugural vintage is a testament to the artistry and dedication applied to each step, ensuring a wine that captures the essence of our beautiful estate and the rich heritage of Aglianico.
