VINTAGE
The 2019 growing season was a roller coaster that kept us on our toes, but resulted in beautiful wines. Spring precipitation persisted through bloom and berry set, but the weather had little impact on our yields. As summer progressed, our typical heat spikes failed to appear, allowing berry flavors to develop slowly, and leading to one of our longest harvests on record. We picked at optimal ripeness and are thrilled with our young wines.
WINEMAKING
The grapes for our Moscato are grown on our Estate St. Helena vineyard in a block adjoining the Napa River. We gently press the grapes and conduct a long, slow fermentation at a very low temperature to maintain the floral and tropical fruit flavors that are the hallmark of Moscato.
TASTING NOTES
Rich, seductive, and inviting, this pale golden wine is a delight to behold. Scents of white peach and lemon blossom are complemented by hints of white rose, honeysuckle, and narcissus. On the palate the wine is lush and silky, with notes of nutmeg and almond cookie. This is an intriguing, complex wine, with a seemingly endless finish.
