VINTAGE
The 2019 growing season was a roller coaster that kept us on our toes, but resulted in beautiful wines. Spring precipitation persisted through bloom and berry set, but the weather had little impact on our yields. As summer progressed, our typical heat spikes failed to appear, allowing berry flavors to develop slowly, and leading to one of our longest harvests on record. We picked at optimal ripeness and are thrilled with our young wines.
WINEMAKING
The beautiful 2019 growing season resulted in an unexpectedly small crop of Aglianico from our vines grafted in 2018. Unable to bottle a standalone 2019 Aglianico, we turned toward our passion to create a new blend that would highlight the unique character of our Aglianico and showcase the strengths of our vineyard. Each variety was harvested and fermented separately before uniting in this exquisite blend.
TASTING NOTES
Beautiful notes of dark fruit, fine dark chocolate, and a hint of spice lead to a harmonious palate that gives and gives. Still very young, this wine will evolve in the mouth as it will evolve in your cellar over the next decade. Rich, complex, and rewarding.
Drinking window: Enjoy now through 2030
PAIRINGS
Enjoy this wine with a pepper-crusted steak over creamy polenta, focaccia with garlic and rosemary, or your favorite salumi.
