VINTAGE
The 2021 vintage will be remembered for low yields with intensely-flavored, small-sized berries and a smooth and uneventful harvest season. The season started off with very little rain, leading to the 2nd year of drought conditions. While concerning in the long term, the drought of 2021 resulted in a more natural load on the vines, requiring less pruning and dropping of fruit. The resulting grapes are packed full of flavor. Truly, one of the great vintages.
WINEMAKING
Aged 19 months in 33% new French oak.
TASTING NOTES
Each sip takes you in so many exhilarating directions: the Syrah offers up enticing hints of wild game and juicy strawberries, while the Aglianico surprises with vibrant raspberries and a tantalizing wet stone minerality. Just when you think you've uncovered it all, the Merlot sweeps in with luscious black cherry, rich cocoa, and a bold espresso finish. Though it's absolutely delicious now, the potential for aging is undeniable—if you have the patience, let this beauty rest for another 7-10 years, and prepare to be amazed.
