VINTAGE:
The 2021 vintage will be remembered for low yields with intensely-flavored, small-sized berries and a smooth and uneventful harvest season. The season started off with very little rain, leading to the 2nd year of drought conditions. While concerning in the long term, the drought of 2021 resulted in a more natural load on the vines, requiring less pruning and dropping of fruit. The resulting grapes are packed full of flavor. Truly, one of the great vintages.
WINEMAKING:
Crafted exclusively in exceptional vintages, our Sangiovese Riserva epitomizes both its Italian heritage and the distinct terroir of Napa Valley. Sourced from 100% Brunellone clone, the grapes undergo meticulous hand-picking and gentle sorting before destemming without crushing the berries. Our commitment to precision extends to cap management, employing punchdowns and pumpovers to achieve the desired structure and color without over-extraction. The wine gracefully matures in 2 Amphora casks and 1 new American oak barrel, allowing it to evolve into a testament of depth and concentration. Each step in the winemaking process is a homage to quality, ensuring that every bottle embodies the essence of its outstanding vintage
