VINTAGE

The 2021 vintage will be remembered for low yields with intensely-flavored, small-sized berries and a smooth and uneventful harvest season. The season started off with very little rain, leading to the 2nd year of drought conditions.  While concerning in the long term, the drought of 2021 resulted in a more natural load on the vines, requiring less pruning and dropping of fruit. The resulting grapes are packed full of flavor.  Truly, one of the great vintages.

WINEMAKING
Aged 20 months in 10% new American oak

TASTING NOTES:
Our 100% Estate grown Sangiovese offers up incredible aromas of dark red fruits, sage, caramel, and maple syrup.  On the palate, there are tantalizing flavors of dark chocolate, coconut, and dark cherries.  The mouth coating, velvety mid-palate leads to a long finish with well-integrated tannins. This gem will age beautifully for the next 15+ years--however, it’s hard not to enjoy this now.

Try this with Osso Bucco and Creamy Polenta and your palate will thank you.
