Speranza is Italian for Hope, and was our first wine in the fire series after losing our 2020 vintage due to wildfires. Speranza's incredible popularity and demand was such that it quickly become a fan favorite.

VINTAGE
The 2021 vintage will be remembered for low yields with intensely-flavored, small-sized berries and a smooth and uneventful harvest season. The season started off with very little rain, leading to the 2nd year of drought conditions.  While concerning in the long term, the drought of 2021 resulted in a more natural load on the vines, requiring less pruning and dropping of fruit. The resulting grapes are packed full of flavor.  Truly, one of the great vintages.

WINEMAKING
The varietals were vinified separately.  They were blended and aged in 10% new French oak for 20 months.

TASTING NOTES:
With expressive violets, strawberries, bright cherries, spice, and vanilla, this wine is silky smooth with beautiful harmony.  The impressive Sagrantino gives just a touch of tannins at the end.

FOOD PAIRING:
Try this with a Creamy Tomato Pasta and the pairing will knock you out.
