VINTAGE
The 2022 growing season was blessed by late winter rains that replenished our soil moisture as the vines emerged from dormancy. A cold spring led to a slower start for the vines, but we avoided any frost danger. Summer growing conditions were exceptional, with consistent weather and blue skies ushering in a Goldilocks summer that was not too hot and not too cold.  We are thrilled with the quality of the grapes from the outstanding 2022 vintage.

WINEMAKING
Aged 20 months in 33% new French oak.

TASTING NOTES
The nose is immediately captivating, with an explosion of fragrant violets, ripe strawberries, and a subtle hint of wet stone. These aromas set the stage for a complex and layered tasting experience. Upon the first sip, the palate confirms the promise of the nose, offering a harmonious blend of floral and fruity notes. As the wine unfolds, rich black fruits come to the forefront, delivering a bold and intense flavor profile that lingers beautifully. This Montepulciano is a testament to the unique terroir of our estate, offering both vibrancy and depth in every glass.

With its naturally high acidity and ripe tannins, our Montepulciano is a perfect match for savory dishes. It pairs beautifully with a range of foods, from hearty meats to pizzas and tomato-based pastas. However, for an exceptional pairing experience, try it with Short Rib Ragu served over Pappardelle – it’s a match made in culinary heaven.
