VINTAGE
The 2022 growing season was blessed by late winter rains that replenished our soil moisture as the vines emerged from dormancy. A cold spring led to a slower start for the vines, but we avoided any frost danger. Summer growing conditions were exceptional, with consistent weather and blue skies ushering in a Goldilocks summer that was not too hot and not too cold.  We are thrilled with the quality of the grapes from the outstanding 2022 vintage.

WINEMAKING
Aged 20 months in 25% new French oak.

TASTING NOTES
The 2022 Passione is bold and brooding, yet intricately composed. Aromas of blackberry compote, dark cherry, and baking spice unfold alongside notes of cured meat, lavender, and worn leather. The palate is rich and full-bodied, with plush Merlot fruit wrapped in Syrah’s savory spice and smoke. Aglianico and Montepulciano contribute structure, earthy depth, and firm tannins that anchor the wine from start to finish.

There’s a natural harmony here—ripe, generous fruit balanced by savory tones and mineral drive. A wine that captures the soul of each variety, unified by a shared sense of place and purpose.

Ideal with Slow-Roasted Pork Shoulder, Charred Eggplant with Harissa, Wild Boar Sausage, or a hearty Lentil and Mushroom Stew.
