Speranza is Italian for Hope, and was our first wine in the fire series after losing our 2020 vintage due to wildfires. Speranza's incredible popularity and demand was such that it quickly become a fan favorite.

VINTAGE
The 2022 growing season was blessed by late winter rains that replenished our soil moisture as the vines emerged from dormancy. A cold spring led to a slower start for the vines, but we avoided any frost danger. Summer growing conditions were exceptional, with consistent weather and blue skies ushering in a Goldilocks summer that was not too hot and not too cold.  We are thrilled with the quality of the grapes from the outstanding 2022 vintage.

WINEMAKING
The varietals were vinified separately.  They were blended and aged in 25% new French oak for 20 months.

TASTING NOTES:
The 2022 Speranza is a vibrant and expressive blend that captures the essence of its unique varietals. The nose is alive with aromas of fresh red berries—think raspberries and cherries—accented by delicate floral notes and a hint of Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, the Grenache shines with juicy red fruit and a touch of spice, while the Sangiovese adds bright acidity and subtle layers of dried fig. The Sagrantino rounds out the blend with a whisper of earthy tannins and a touch of dark chocolate. This wine is beautifully balanced, with a silky texture and a long, graceful finish that leaves a lingering impression of ripe fruit and a hint of spice.

FOOD PAIRING:
This wine pairs beautifully with Grilled Lamb Kebabs, where the wine’s bright acidity and fruity depth enhance the savory, spiced flavors of the lamb. For a vegetarian option, try it with a Roasted Red Pepper and Goat Cheese Tart, as the wine's vibrant red fruit and herbal notes perfectly complement the dish's creamy and smoky profile.
