VINTAGE
The 2024 growing season benefited from heavy winter rains, which replenished soil moisture and supported healthy vine growth throughout the year. This provided a solid foundation for the vines, particularly during the heat spikes, with temperatures exceeding 100°F for over 40 days. The natural canopy provided vital shade, protecting the fruit during these challenging heat events. Rather than relying on extra irrigation, our vineyard team carefully managed the vines, tailoring care to meet their specific needs. With strong relationships and clear communication across the community, we navigated the season's conditions successfully. The 2024 vintage at Benessere Vineyards saw yields that were generally above average, resulting in wines with deep color, bold flavors, and the hallmark elegance of Napa Valley.
WINEMAKING
Crafted in the traditional Italian style, this wine is 100% tank fermented and aged for 5 months. This method helps preserve the natural acidity and vibrant freshness of the Pinot Grigio grape. The result is a crisp, well-balanced wine that is both food-friendly and enjoyable in its youth, yet possesses the potential to age
TASTING NOTES
Our Estate Pinot Grigio is a refined expression of the varietal, with a pale straw color that sparkles in the glass. The nose is fresh and inviting, with bright aromas of citrus zest, green apple, and a hint of fresh herbs, creating an uplifting first impression. On the palate, the wine is crisp and clean, with lively notes of lemon, pear, and a touch of melon, balanced by a subtle minerality that adds depth. Its bright acidity and smooth texture lead to a clean, refreshing finish, making it an ideal choice for those seeking a refined yet approachable white wine.
PAIRINGS
It pairs beautifully with light, fresh dishes such as Grilled Scallops, Shrimp Ceviche, or a simple Caprese Salad with ripe tomatoes, basil, and mozzarella. Its crisp acidity also complements a variety of appetizers like goat cheese crostini or roasted vegetable tarts, making it an ideal choice for a refreshing, versatile pairing.
